Here we strive to make as much of our menu from scratch, right in our kitchen.

Here at JJ’s we strive to use as many locally sourced ingredients as we can with our specials rotating based on what’s in season. We believe locally caught fish, locally grown cattle, and locally sourced produce create a better dining experience for our guests as well as a smaller footprint.

At JJ’s we believe your experience is about more than just the food. Our craft cocktail bar features recipes created by Julian showcasing modern cocktail techniques as well as showcasing old school recipes.

Without them, this project wouldn’t have happened. After retirement, they wanted a family project to spend their time on and so helped build JJ’s from the ground up. You will often see them at JJ’s enjoying the company of our guests and helping out as needed.
Julian Helsper
Owner/Mixologist
Since he was a teenager, Julian has always been drawn to the culinary world, attending cooking classes and working in the industry through high school, college and during his time in the National Guard. In recent years, Julian has made several trips to the Yucatan which sparked the idea for bringing this unique gastronomy to Marblehead.
Julian’s passion for creating the perfect dining experience, coupling perfectly tailored cocktails with the ambience of a truly unique dining establishment, has been paramount to JJ’s coming to fruition. Combining traditional style bartending and his own distinctive approach to drink recipes, has quickly made Julian a notable mixologist in the area. The bar cocktail menu continues to grow as Julian spends his free time exploring and creating new drinks for your pleasure. His personal and professional drink repertoire extends beyond cocktails into the realm of high class bourbon, which he looks forward to sharing with other enthusiasts.
